Gateway Early Learning Center was opened in March of 2009 when a mother of twin toddlers realized that Cleburne Texas needed an additional source for quality child care. The twins had been attending a Mother’s Day Out Program in a local church facility; however, the program had shut down to reorganize.
As a mother of twins, she was understandably skeptical of daycare facilities, and could not find the right fit for her toddlers. She has always been an advocate for children, with a deep-seated passion for making children’s lives better. She had just finished a degree in Sociology and was ready to begin working as a case manager for CASA of Johnson County (an organization for which she has volunteered for 9 years), but instead of going to work for CASA she opened an early learning center.
Having no experience in the child care industry, she hired a Director to run the day-to-day operations, went back to school, and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. Currently working on a Master’s Degree in the same field, she strongly believes that “anything worth doing is worth doing well”.
Gateway is proud to have won the 2012 award for “Best Childcare in Johnson County.” We are also a member of the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce, and Texas Licensed Child Care Association (TLCCA).

Gateway Early Learning Center differs from other daycare facilities in that we promote high moral standards and Christian values. At Gateway Early Learning Center, we are committed to excellence, and we offer nothing less. We provide students with an extensive learning environment that is not only educational, but also nurturing and supportive.
We require that our staff undergo continuous training to ensure that we are prepared for every possible scenario in caring for our children. Our key areas of training and knowledge include: discipline and guidance, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), blood borne pathogens, child abuse and neglect, curriculum, and lesson planning.
Our Educational Philosophy
Gateway Early Learning Center offers a child-centered, multi-cultural learning environment in which each child is treated as an individual. The child’s needs and interests are to be respected and supported through developmentally appropriate activities.
Gateway believes that a child is best nurtured by a strong faith in God, along with a caring community made up of parents, teachers, and staff. Through a continued commitment to the highest quality education and a strong Christian background, Gateway Early Learning Center intends its children to be future leaders with high moral standards.
We use Baby Signs at Gateway –sign language for babies!
We are proud to use the HighScope Curriculum. Beginning with the Perry Preschool Study, HighScope revolutionized early childhood education with a new approach to teaching and learning. Research based and child focused, the HighScope Curriculum uses a carefully designed process — called “active participatory learning” — to achieve powerful, positive outcomes.
Both Gateway Early Learning Center locations are also Baby Sign Language certified, allowing for earlier speech development, easier communication for the parent and child, and much less frustration too!
