Pre-School Program (K-3)

Gateway Early Learning Center

The Gateway Early Learning Center Preschool Program helps open up your child's world!

Gateway Early Learning Center Pre-School Program follows the A Beka Christian-based curriculum.

Preschoolers are at a unique time in their life when they really open up to learning and interacting with others. At Gateway Early Learning Center, we embrace this time by working with our students to set the stage for exploration, learning, and developing social skills.

Preschoolers learn by doing things themselves, and that is why we engage our students in various hands-on activities that strengthen cognitive skills. With Gateway Early Learning Center, we design our curriculum with thematic units that excite children while building their skills and confidence. Each unit incorporates language, math, science, creative arts, music, motor skills, and social development.

Pre-School Program Features

  • Thematic units that encourage curiosity, self-direction, and confidence
  • Hands-on experiences that heighten math and science skills and understanding
  • Small group instruction
  • Communication from staff to keep parents informed of their child’s progress
  • A loving environment with Christian values and high moral standards

A Beka Curriculum

We follow the A Beka Christian-based curriculum at Gateway Early Learning Center. This curriculum features a print-rich environment with ample focus on learning through play. We use this curriculum to encourage school readiness in our students. Early literacy skills are built into all areas of the curriculum with labeling and sequencing. We provide the building blocks for future reading success.

In this preschool program, children are expected to develop the personal organizational skills necessary to be successful in their next school setting. Gateway Early Learning Center teachers use reasonable judgment to allow children to experience the consequences of their choices in order to develop internal motivation for self help and personal responsibility.

Gateway students also have the opportunity to participate in Spanish classes, movement classes, musical performances and science presentations. We also teach students the value of volunteering through community service projects and field trips.

Other Projects

Gateway Early Learning Center

Gateway Early Learning Center is close to my heart!

Another exciting part of the Gateway Preschool Program is a project that we have developed with the Santa Fe Trails Assisted Living Center. This is an Adopt-a-Grandparent program in which students visit the residents at the Assisted Living Center, and the residents also visit Gateway Early Learning Center. This gives the students the opportunity to interact with elders while doing crafts and reading stories.

This project teaches children to respect and love their elders, and it brings endless joy to the adopted grandparents. We are very excited about this project, and it is an incredible experience for all those involved.

With Gateway Early Learning Center, you can expect your preschooler to be equipped with the educational skills needed to prepare them for school. What many parents don’t expect, however, is how we teach students the moral values needed to prepare them for life.
