Ms. Andrea, Just a note to let you know how much we appreciate you. Having a child with special needs and knowing that they are being met while he is in your care is such a big relief to us all. You care for my great grandson is better than some of the teacher he has at his school and the special education classes that he is in, so again thank you to you and the entire staff at Gateway Early Learning Center. My child comes home always talking about the friends she has made and how much she loves her teachers. She can’t wait to go to school in the mornings and loves the activities they have planned each day. We as parents love that the teachers and staff take the time to learn the parents’ names one by one and not call us so and so’s mom & dad. My name is Jennifer Smith, and I am the private kindergarten teacher here at Gateway. I love coming to work every day and getting to make a positive impact on my students lives. This is not a job for me; it is a place where I get to share my passion and the gifts that God gave me. I work with a wonderful, knowledgeable, compassionate group of people, who are always willing to help each other out. I have never worked for a company that is so involved in community outreach projects. From can food drives, to the angel tree, to the funds raised for the Family Crisis center, we are always helping the community in some way or another. My class in particular delivers Meals on Wheels to some amazing elderly men and women every Tuesday. We work hard at teaching children the importance of giving back and helping those less fortunate. I love being able to help develop the minds of our future. I hope that anyone who wants a quality learning environment for their child would give us a try. Our experience with Gateway Early Learning Center has been a real blessing for us and my great grandson. His first experience with another Day care was horrible. Gateway Staff has shown him a better approach to learning. He has been doing so well learning numbers, letters, and his colors and so much more! Gateway Early Learning Center is one of the best I have seen. I am a retired trauma nurse and I love see this early learning coming out in my great grandson. Keep up the good work! Through the years, I had prayed of having a precious baby of my own, and my prayers were answered 4 years ago, with a beautiful baby girl. The feeling that you have with being a mother is unconditional love for such a special gift. Along with loving your child unconditionally, you have to protect them as well. My husband and I both worked 50 hour a week jobs, and when it was time for me to return to work after maternity leave I was so blessed to be able to depend on a close friend and my mother to care for my little girl. I knew she was safe, I knew who she was with and it wasn’t a stranger until that time came to an end. When my daughter was 19 months old I was told that my friend needed to return to work for her family’s well-being and unfortunately my mother could not keep her 5 days a week due to her work, therefore I had to start looking for a place for her to stay. It made me sick to my stomach, I cried, I couldn’t stand the fact that my child was going to have to be with a total stranger for almost 10 hours a day. What was she going to think of me? Why was Mommy leaving her with these people? I began calling around town getting prices, and had been told to check on Gateway Early Learning Center. In the end, I ended up choosing them as the ones that I would leave my daughter with. Yes it is more expensive than some of the others in town, but I was impressed with the curriculum that they offered and I also was taken with the food menu that my child would have and knowing that she wouldn’t being eating Pop Tarts every morning or Hot Dogs every day for lunch. With this being said, my child is now 4 years old, and still LOVES Gateway. Through the past 2 ½ years that she has gone there, she has learned sign language, Spanish, etc. She has learned to interact with other children as well as made tons of new friends. They have always taken care of concerns that I may have had, and have always communicated when needed.

When it was time to choose a kindergarten school for my son, I didn’t know whether to put him in a public school or let him attend Gateway Early Learning Center. Then the Director told me. “All of our students would be reading before they leave here”. I thought, “OK…” So I enrolled my son with Gateway Early Learning Center’s kindergarten program and that was the best decision I have made. His speech and vocabulary has advanced beyond my expectation for his age. The teacher Ms. Jennifer showed me that she cares about my son and his education by greeting us happily every morning and when we arrived and by keeping me informed of all class activities with the weekly newsletter. The weekly newsletter helps me know what my son is learning that week and to do my part at home. Every day I am worry free because I know that Gateway is giving my son the best education and the greatest loving care.
If I am asked about Gateway once… twice… a thousand times, I would answer “THE ONE AND ONLY”. All the staffs and teachers at Gateway teach and care for the children with their heart and that makes Gateway live up to its title “Early Learning Center.”
